We consider ourselves people orientated, focusing on the individual. Our firm’s size and relative flat organizational structure allows us the benefit of getting to know our staff, harnessing their individual talents to make the collective effort a success.

TAG invests in the professional career development of its staff, whether these are in our professional services divisions or support staff. Continued professional development is a key ingredient in ensuring that our staff not only stay abreast with the latest developments but also fosters a culture of learning and self improvement.

With an average age grouping of 27, the culture within the firm is young and vibrant with motivated individuals striving to make the most of their careers.

We realise that work is not always just “work” and that a team develops around the social interaction as well. TAG has a social club managed by trainee accountants that organizes fun activities and social events throughout the year. Highlights during the year are the new trainee induction, QE result parties, annual firm team building weekend and the formal year end ball.

Retief Smith

Retief Smith

Retief is the Managing Director of TAG and is responsible for Quality Control. Retief completed his articles at a Big 4 firm. Having qualified as a CA in 1989 he has been involved at SARS and UNISA where-after he commenced in public practice.

 

André Oosthuysen

André Oosthuysen

Andre completed his articles at a Big 4 firm. Having qualified as a CA in 1989, he has been in public practice since 1992.

 

Correli van Zijl

Correli van Zijl

Correli qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2010 after completing her articles at one of the big four firms. She joined TAG Incorporated in that same year as an audit manager and has since obtained her Master of Commerce in Taxation from the University of Pretoria. Correli moved into public practice during 2015.

 

Brendan Robinson

Brendan Robinson

Brendan completed his articles at TAG and qualified as a CA in 2012. He was employed as an Audit Manager for 3 years and joined the board of directors in 2015. Brendan is responsible for the training office.

 

E.C. Orsmond

E.C. Orsmond

E.C. completed his articles at a Big 4 firm and qualified as a CA in 2005. He has been in public practice since qualifying and has a true passion for the audit profession and service excellence.
